Charlie joined Youngs Chartered Surveyors in 2003, became a partner in 2008 and a Director of youngsRPS in 2014. Charlie is the son of a Cumbrian farmer; he has worked as a Chartered Surveyor for 30 years and works in the Hexham Mart office.
His specialisms include issues relating to Defra reform, grants and subsidies, environmental schemes (including Environmental Land Management and Sustainable Farm Initiative), Commoners’ rights, uplands conservation schemes; Tenancy Issues (including succession and tenant rights). He is also an administrator for a number of complex group Higher Tier Countryside Stewardship Scheme agreements.
Charlie is an active member of the Northumbria and Cumbria branch of Central Association of Agricultural Valuers. In his spare time, he enjoys shooting and walking.
