Senior Farm Business Consultant - All Branches

We are looking to appoint a Senior Farm Business Consultant to lead, and help to develop, a team of Farm Business Consultants across the North of England. The candidate must be able to demonstrate a wealth of experience in farm business consultancy and rural matters. This role will be based from the office that is most geographically suited to the successful candidate.

Job Description & Key Skills

  • Have excellent links to the rural community
  • Have the ability to develop and manage a farm and rural business consultancy team across the North of England
  • Competent in providing strategic farm management advice; including but not limited to the preparation of farm business reviews, monitoring of cash flow forecasts as well as analysis and recommendation
  • Provide considered advice on grants and subsidies as well as preparing applications
  • Operation and management of farm contracting arrangements
  • Have excellent practical agricultural knowledge
  • Generally assist farming clients to develop and strengthen their businesses
  • Excellent communicator with ambition, dedication and a keen eye for detail and the ability to provide knowledgeable and creative advice
  • Competent IT skills

A valid driving licence is essential for this role.

Rural Chartered Surveyor / Rural Business Consultant - Dumfries

We are seeking either a qualified land agent or an experienced rural/ farm business advisor in our Dumfries office to assist the team with an expanding workload.  Qualifications are not essential but a sound knowledge and experience of farming and rural matters is; along with the ability to provide sound advice to our clients.

Subject to experience and performance the position will provide the applicant with a clear career progression within the business.

Job description and & key skills

  • Have excellent links to the local farming and rural community.
  • Have ambition and desire to grow the firms business in Scotland but particularly in the Dumfries and Borders region.
  • Preferably be a registered valuer and or have experience in agricultural agency
  • Excellent practical agricultural knowledge
  • Experience of agricultural subsidies including basic payment scheme and stewardship and other grant opportunities.
  • Detailed knowledge of Agricultural tenancy legislation.
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Excellent communicator with ambition, dedication and a keen eye for detail and the ability to provide knowledgeable and creative advice.

Commercial Chartered Surveyor - Newcastle

We are seeking either a qualified commercial property chartered surveyor, or a graduate with some relevant experience looking to qualify as a chartered surveyor via the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) route, to assist the team with an expanding workload.

Subject to experience and performance, the position will provide the applicant with a clear career progression within the business.

  • Working with three other surveyors in our Newcastle City centre office, operating mainly across the North East and North Yorkshire in agency, property management and valuation services across mainly industrial, office and retail sectors. 
  • Experience of similar commercial property work is preferred.

Marketing Maternity Cover - All Branches

We require a marketing professional to cover maternity leave on a part-time basis of three/four days a week. The position requires the candidate to utilise multiple communication tools to deliver the marketing strategy, maintain the brands profile and promote our services in alignment to our objectives.

The role is not tied to a specific branch and will begin towards the end of May 2021.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Website management
  • Social media management
  • Email marketing / direct mail marketing
  • Events management
  • Content writing / PR for both digital and print
  • Planning and gathering content for our magazine, Insight
  • Design of marketing material using the Adobe Suite
  • Video/Podcast – facilitating, editing and distribution
  • Liaising with and coordinating external contractors such as photographers, designers and external PR
  • Facilitate the creation of videocasts and podcasts as well as editing and uploading to the relevant platforms
  • Liaising with and supporting teams across the business to deliver the business objectives
  • Research for costs; competitions, sponsorships, suppliers and products
  • Maintain and monitor the marketing budget

Additional Requirements:

  • Competent IT skills
  • Competent with the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent communicator
  • A valid driving license
