We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve joined forces with Active Business Partnerships, a leading national agricultural consultancy, in a strategic move to offer a full and comprehensive service to our clients and the wider farming community.
The impending and fast approaching phased removal of BPS and reduction of other financial aid has been at the forefront of our minds. The proposed Environmental Land Management Scheme (ELMs), detailed within the Agriculture Bill, is designed to replace the current direct payments farmers receive for the total amount of land farmed with environmental requirements. For many, this means changing the way in which they farm, diversifying or investing in cutting edge technology. It is a testing time for farmers when the landscape is difficult enough without having to think about business management and feasibility.
We’ve brought together Active Business Partnerships’ dedicated farm business management service and our specialist land and property asset management service under one advisory roof in order to help farmers navigate the evolving policy surrounding environmental requirements, allowing them to develop robust, adaptable and financially sound businesses for the future.
Director at youngRPS, Tom Oates said: “We’ve worked with Hamish Bichan, Director at Active Business Constancy on a casual basis for around 25 years, we have first-hand experience of the fantastic service he offers and trust in him and his team to give our clients, not only the same level of service, but business security in a time of uncertainty. We are always looking to add value to the service we offer clients; with changes to farming operations and finance looking to be implemented within the next three to four years, we identified that there was a requirement for a farm business consultancy service.”
The businesses will offer a full suite of farm specific services, including:
• Farm and Estate Sale and Purchases
• Agricultural Finance
• Landlord and Tenant
• Grants and Subsidy
• Farm Management
• Farm Business Consultancy
• Financial Management and Business Planning
• Strategic Business Reviews
Hamish Bichan, Director at Active Business Partnerships said: “2020 has already brought about many challenges, but what it’s highlighted over the recent weeks, is that farmers are crucial in times of crisis, feeding the country and keeping going in all circumstances. It has never been more important for farmers to be efficient in the costs and revenue of ‘pure farming’, and to be able to integrate that with diversification and modern environmental requirements.”
